The LockeyUSA SUMO GL2 combines mechanical keyless access, automatic locking and heavy-duty surface-mounted construction in one complete gate-locking system.
Designed for interior or exterior use, the SUMO GL2 installs on ornamental, aluminum, vinyl and wood gates. It can also be installed on chain-link gates using the separately sold SUMO GL2LINX Adapter.

Automatic Locking
When the gate closes, the SUMO GL2 locks automatically. From the coded side, the user presses the clear button and enters the assigned combination to retract the latch.
On a single-combination model, the gate can be opened from the inside using the lever handle.
Keyed Lockout Function
The keyed cylinder lockout provides an additional level of access control. Authorized personnel can engage the lockout with a key, making the keypad inoperable so the gate remains locked even when someone knows the correct combination.
The lockout feature operates from the pull side of the gate only. Installation and gate handing should be planned accordingly.
Passage Function
The built-in passage function allows the gate to remain unlocked when free access is required. This can be useful during scheduled operating hours when users should not need to enter the combination repeatedly.
Activating passage mode compromises the normal security of the lock. LockeyUSA’s instructions also explain how to disable the passage function permanently by removing the passage tumbler.
Installation Information
The SUMO GL2 uses a surface-mounted installation system and does not require welding. The supplied brackets attach the lock and strike assemblies to the existing gate and fence post.
Installation requires drilling and cutting the spindle to the proper length for the gate thickness. Always follow LockeyUSA’s current installation instructions and test every lock function before completing the installation.
The SUMO GL2 mounts on left- and right-hand gates. Mounting Bracket A must be installed on the pull side of the gate.
Important Warranty Requirements
To retain the SUMO GL2 product warranty:
- A slam-prevention device must be installed on the gate.
- The supplied gate stop must be installed.
- Spring closers or self-closing hinges cannot be used without a slam-prevention device.
LockeyUSA recommends using a hydraulic gate closer, such as a SUMO TB Series gate closer, to prevent the gate from slamming.
Failure to follow these requirements may void the product warranty.
