The HES 5200 Series is a Grade 1 electric strike designed for cylindrical locksets with latchbolts measuring from 5/8" to 3/4". Its in-frame horizontal adjustment lets the installer reposition the keeper after installation, helping compensate for door alignment, smoke seals, door silencers and other conditions that can cause difficult engagement or release.
The 5200 Series is non-handed and field selectable for fail-secure or fail-safe operation. It operates at either 12 or 24 VAC/VDC and is suitable for metal and wood frame applications.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the HES 5200 and 5200C?
The 5200 is the electric strike body only and requires a separately ordered faceplate kit. The 5200C is a Complete Pac containing the strike body, 501 and 501A faceplates, and mounting hardware.
What locks work with the HES 5200 Series?
The 5200 Series is designed for cylindrical locksets with latchbolts measuring from 5/8" to 3/4". A 1/8" door gap is required when using a 3/4" latchbolt.
Can the HES 5200 be adjusted after installation?
Yes. Its keeper can be adjusted horizontally by loosening the two screws connecting the strike body to the faceplate. This helps correct latch alignment and compensate for pressure caused by seals or door silencers.
Is the HES 5200 fail safe or fail secure?
It can be configured in the field for either fail-safe or fail-secure operation.
Can the HES 5200 operate continuously?
The strike is rated for continuous-duty operation when powered by DC. AC power is for intermittent-duty operation only.
Can the HES 5200 be used outdoors?
Yes. The 5200 Series is UL 1034 listed as burglary resistant and suitable for outdoor use. The surrounding opening, wiring and installation must also be appropriate for the environment.
Does the 5200C include every available faceplate?
No. The Complete Pac includes the 501 and 501A faceplates. Other faceplate configurations and finishes must be ordered separately.
Is the HES 5200 fire rated?
HES does not list the 5200 Series as a fire-rated electric strike. Use a specifically fire-rated HES model when the opening requires a fire listing.
