Product Description

The HES 1006 is a heavy-duty, universal electric strike body designed for use with the appropriate separately ordered HES 1006 Series faceplate. With the correct faceplate and accessory configuration, the 1006 Series can accommodate cylindrical and mortise locksets designed for an ANSI 4-7/8-inch strike plate, including applications with or without a deadbolt.

Its dual interlocking plunger design and heavy-duty stainless steel construction provide exceptional strength for demanding commercial access-control applications. The strike delivers 2,500 lb static strength and 350 ft-lb dynamic strength in fail-secure operation and is tested to 1,000,000 operating cycles.

The 1006 strike body is non-handed and operates on either 12 or 24 VDC using the appropriate included plug-in connector. Fail-secure operation is standard, with a fail-safe model available when specified. Optional latchbolt and strike monitoring configurations are also available.

An application-specific HES 1006 Series faceplate must be selected and ordered separately. The required faceplate depends on the lock manufacturer, lock type, latchbolt position, deadlatch position, deadbolt configuration and frame application.

This item is not a 1006 Complete Pac and does not include the assortment of faceplates and brackets supplied with HES 1006 Complete Pac models.

With the standard fail-secure model, the strike remains locked when power is removed. The optional fail-safe model unlocks when power is removed. The correct operation must be selected according to the opening and applicable building and life-safety requirements.

Does the HES 1006 offer monitoring?

Yes. LBM latchbolt monitoring and LBSM latchbolt-and-strike monitoring configurations are available. Monitoring is not compatible with every faceplate option, so the complete configuration must be verified before ordering.

Is the HES 1006 fire rated?

The HES 1006 Series is listed by the manufacturer as UL 10C fire rated and compliant with ASTM E152 and NFPA 252. The fire rating of an opening depends on the selected faceplate, installation and complete door-and-frame assembly. Confirm the complete configuration before using it on a fire-rated opening.
