Adams Rite UltraLine 7440 Preload-Capable Electric Strike – Square-Corner Faceplate

    Product Description

The Adams Rite UltraLine 7440 Electric Strike provides preload-capable electrical unlocking for compatible doors equipped with an Adams Rite 4500, discontinued 4700 or 4900 Series deadlatch, as well as cylindrical locksets with a 1/2" to 5/8" latchbolt projection.

The 7440 is distinguished by its flat 1-1/4" × 4-7/8" faceplate with square corners. It is designed for openings requiring a square-corner frame preparation rather than the radius-corner faceplate supplied with the standard UltraLine 7400.

Its adjustable stainless-steel keeper can release electrically under up to 25 lb. of door preload and provides more than 1,500 lb. of holding force in fail-secure mode. Preload may be caused by building air pressure, weather seals, door warping or hardware misalignment.

The strike is field selectable for 12 or 24 VDC using the included plug-in voltage adapters. A separate VA7400-16VDC adapter is required for 16 VDC operation. www.adamsrite.com

Important: Installation of the 7440 in a wood frame requires the separately purchased WDC7400 Wood Door Cover. Adams Rite specifically states this requirement in its current catalog.

The appropriate mode must be selected according to the opening’s security requirements and applicable building, fire and life-safety codes.

    Monitoring Option

The 7440 is available in standard and monitored configurations.

The monitored version uses two Form C switches to indicate:

    Wood-Frame Installation Requirement

    Adams Rite’s current catalog states:

    “Installation in wood requires WDC7400.”

The WDC7400 Wood Door Cover is sold separately and simplifies the mortise preparation required for wood applications. Do not install the 7440 in a wood frame without confirming the WDC7400 and the current manufacturer installation instructions. content.assaabloyusa.com
