Product Title
Adams Rite 7130 Electric Strike – MS Deadlock Conversion Faceplate
Product Description
The Adams Rite 7130 Electric Strike provides remote electrical unlocking for compatible Adams Rite deadlatches and cylindrical locksets. Its oversized 1-1/4" × 6-7/8" flat faceplate with radius corners is specifically designed to cover the existing frame opening when converting from an Adams Rite MS pivoted-bolt deadlock to a deadlatch.
The 7130 works with Adams Rite 4500, discontinued 4700 and 4900 Series deadlatches, as well as compatible cylindrical locks with a 1/2" to 5/8" latchbolt projection. When electrically actuated, the keeper releases the latchbolt, allowing the door to open without operating the latch with a key, paddle or lever.
The strike is available in 12-, 16- and 24-volt AC or DC configurations and may be field converted between fail-secure and fail-safe operation during installation. www.adamsrite.com
Important: The 7130 is the flat-faceplate conversion model. Its 6-7/8" faceplate is intended to cover the larger frame preparation left by an MS pivoted-bolt deadlock. For a radiused inactive-leaf application, review the Adams Rite 7131.

Electrical Configuration Warning
- DC continuous-duty models operate silently.
- AC intermittent-duty models buzz while energized.
- An AC intermittent solenoid must not be continuously energized.
- Voltage and AC/DC duty must be selected correctly when ordering.
- Field conversion between fail-secure and fail-safe does not change the strike’s voltage or electrical duty.
Fail-Safe and Fail-Secure Operation
The 7130 may be field converted between:
-
Fail secure: The strike remains locked when power is removed.
-
Fail safe: The strike unlocks when power is removed.
The correct operating mode must be determined according to the opening’s security requirements and all applicable building, fire and life-safety codes.
Monitoring Is Not Available
The Adams Rite 7130 is not available with the optional two Form C monitoring switches offered on certain other 7100 Series models.
The 7130 cannot provide strike-based confirmation that:
- The latchbolt is engaged in the strike
- The strike jaw is blocked
If either status output is required, a different compatible electric-strike model and faceplate arrangement must be considered.
MS Deadlock Conversion Application
The larger 6-7/8" faceplate is intended to cover the existing frame opening when an Adams Rite MS pivoted-bolt deadlock installation is converted to a deadlatch and electric strike.
This does not mean that the 7130 directly works with the projected MS deadlock bolt. The existing MS deadlock must be replaced or converted to compatible deadlatch hardware.
The 7130 releases a compatible latchbolt. It is not designed to release an extended MS deadlock bolt.
Lip-Extension Options
The standard strike lip is intended for a 1-3/4" thick door that closes flush or nearly flush with the jamb face.
Lip extensions are available for the flat-faceplate 7130 when the door thickness, center-hung position or jamb profile creates a different door-centerline-to-jamb-edge dimension.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Adams Rite 7130 designed for?
The 7130 is designed to cover the existing strike opening when converting from an Adams Rite MS pivoted-bolt deadlock to a compatible deadlatch and electric strike.
Does the 7130 work with an MS deadlock bolt?
No. The 7130 releases a compatible latchbolt. Its large faceplate covers the opening left by the previous MS deadlock strike preparation, but it does not electrically release an extended MS deadlock bolt.
What is the difference between the 7130 and 7100?
The 7130 has a 6-7/8" faceplate designed to cover an existing MS deadlock strike opening. The 7100 has a shorter 4-7/8" faceplate for standard installations.
What is the difference between the 7130 and 7131?
The 7130 has a flat faceplate. The 7131 has a radiused faceplate for the nose of an inactive leaf in paired narrow-stile doors.
Are lip extensions available for the 7130?
Yes. Lip extensions are available for the flat 7130 faceplate. They are not available for the radiused 7131.
Does the 7130 offer monitoring?
No. Adams Rite specifically excludes the 7130 and 7131 from the optional monitoring-switch configuration.
Which deadlatches are compatible?
The 7130 is designed for Adams Rite 4500, discontinued 4700 and 4900 Series deadlatches with a compatible latchbolt projection.
Can the 7130 work with a cylindrical lock?
Yes, provided the cylindrical lock has a compatible latchbolt projecting between 1/2" and 5/8".
Is the 7130 fail safe or fail secure?
It may be field converted between fail-secure and fail-safe operation during installation. Voltage and AC/DC duty must still be selected correctly when ordering.
What voltages are available?
The 7130 is available in 12-, 16- and 24-volt AC or DC configurations.
Can an AC 7130 be continuously energized?
No. Adams Rite specifies that its AC intermittent solenoid must not be continuously energized.
Is the 7130 handed?
The strike can be turned upside down for the opposite hand, according to Adams Rite’s official installation details. content.assaabloyusa.com
