The Adams Rite 7101 Electric Strike provides remote electrical unlocking for the inactive-leaf nose of a pair of narrow-stile doors. Its distinguishing feature is a radiused 1-1/4" × 4-7/8" faceplate, shaped specifically to match the rounded nose of the inactive door leaf.
The 7101 works with Adams Rite 4500, discontinued 4700 and 4900 Series deadlatches, as well as compatible cylindrical locksets with a 1/2" to 5/8" latchbolt projection. Electrical actuation releases the keeper, allowing the active door leaf to open without mechanically retracting the latchbolt.
The 7101 is available for 12-, 16- or 24-volt AC or DC systems. It may be field converted between fail-secure and fail-safe operation during installation. www.adamsrite.com
Important: The 7101 is the radiused-faceplate model for the inactive leaf of paired narrow-stile doors. It is not the standard flat-faceplate version. For a flat jamb or frame preparation, review the Adams Rite 7100 instead.

Electrical Configuration Warning
- DC continuous-duty models operate silently.
- AC intermittent-duty models produce an audible buzz while energized.
- An AC intermittent solenoid must not be continuously energized.
- Voltage, AC/DC duty and monitoring must be selected correctly when ordering.
- Fail-safe/fail-secure operation may be converted in the field, but this does not change the unit’s voltage or duty rating.
Fail-Safe and Fail-Secure Operation
The 7101 may be field converted between the following operating modes:
-
Fail secure: The strike remains locked when power is removed.
-
Fail safe: The strike unlocks when power is removed.
The appropriate mode must be determined according to the opening’s access-control requirements and all applicable building, fire and life-safety codes.
Monitoring Option
The 7101 is available with two Form C monitoring switches that can indicate:
- Whether the latchbolt is engaged in the strike
- Whether the strike jaw is blocked
Monitoring is optional and must be specified when ordering. It is not included with every 7101.
Important Lip Information
Lip-extension kits are not available for the Adams Rite 7101.
Because the 7101 uses a specially radiused faceplate designed to match the nose of the inactive door leaf, the opening’s dimensions and door relationship must be verified before ordering. Do not assume that a 7100 lip extension can be added to a 7101.
Standard Package
The Adams Rite 7101 is individually boxed with:
- Electric strike
- Radiused faceplate
- Mounting screws
- Mounting clips
- Adhesive shims
The adhesive shims accommodate jamb or stile extrusion thicknesses greater or less than the nominal 1/8" thickness.
