The dormakaba Simplex 8146 is a fully mechanical pushbutton mortise lock that provides controlled exterior entry without batteries, electrical wiring, software, or access cards. Authorized users can enter using a single programmable combination, while the interior lever provides free egress.
The 8146 includes passage and lockout functions for added operational flexibility. Passage mode allows the door to be opened without entering the combination and is activated from the inside using the supplied thumbturn or key. Lockout mode disables combination entry from the exterior; when the lock is in lockout mode, authorized entry remains available through the optional key-override core.
Designed for standard ANSI 86 mortise door preparation, the Simplex 8146 features a 3/4-inch two-piece anti-friction latch, fixed ADA-compliant levers, a cast front housing, and vandal-resistant solid-metal pushbuttons. The access combination can be changed directly at the keypad without removing the lock from the door.
Please note: The Simplex 8146 is factory-handed and cannot be reversed in the field. Select the correct handing and key-override preparation when ordering. The interchangeable or removable cylinder core is not included.
