The SDC 101-DE Series Delayed Egress Controllers provide a powerful two-piece delayed egress solution for commercial, healthcare, institutional, and other facilities requiring controlled exit through perimeter doors. Designed for use with compatible SDC magnetic locks or exit devices featuring ExitCheck® slave operation, the 101-DE controller supplies power to the locking hardware while providing clear audible and visual warnings during a delayed egress sequence.
The integrated digital countdown display, alternating verbal message, verbal countdown, and alarm tone help communicate the door's status to occupants—including individuals who may be blind, hearing impaired, or unfamiliar with the door's operation. Configurable 15- or 30-second delayed egress operation helps alert security personnel to unauthorized egress while maintaining emergency release functionality.
The 101-DE also integrates with access control and patient wandering systems, making it well suited for healthcare facilities, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other controlled-access environments. Multiple operating modes allow the controller to be configured for applicable local requirements and national and regional fire and life-safety codes, including NFPA 101 Special Locking Arrangements.

Double-Door Applications
The 101-DE Series can control up to two doors. For double-door applications, order two compatible magnetic locks or two compatible exit devices equipped with ExitCheck® slave operation.
Important: The 101-DE controller must be ordered with a compatible SDC magnetic lock or exit device featuring the ExitCheck® slave operation function. The controller does not independently secure the door.
