The PDQ 7100 Series is an extra-heavy-duty surface door closer designed for demanding commercial and institutional openings. It features a high-strength cast iron body, forged steel main arm, and a 1-1/2" diameter piston for dependable door control in high-use applications.
The closer has an adjustable spring range from Barrier Free through Size 6. Standard hydraulic controls include closing adjustment, backcheck, and a backcheck positioning valve that allows the backcheck action to begin earlier in the door’s opening cycle. All adjustment valves are staked to help prevent removal during adjustment.
The standard tri-pack configuration supports regular-arm, top-jamb, and parallel-arm installation. The mounting-hole pattern is designed to retrofit the LCN 4040 pattern. Sex nuts and bolts, wood and metal door/frame screws, and self-drilling, self-tapping screws are included.
The PDQ 7100 is certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.4 Grade 1 and UL listed for use on labeled swinging fire doors rated up to and including three hours. It also complies with ADA and ICC/ANSI 117.1 accessibility requirements when properly selected, installed, and adjusted.
