Dormakaba Simplex LP1010 Mechanical Pushbutton Exit Trim – Combination Entry Only

$ 602.55

The dormakaba Simplex LP1010 is a heavy-duty mechanical pushbutton lever trim that provides combination-controlled exterior access through a compatible rim exit device while maintaining free egress from the interior. It requires no batteries, wiring, keys, cards or software. The LP1010 features a fixed ADA-compliant lever, weather-resistant construction and a 3-hour UL/ULC fire rating when installed in an appropriate listed assembly. Exit device and exit-device mounting hardware are not included.

Full Product Description

The dormakaba Simplex LP1010 Mechanical Pushbutton Exit Trim provides battery-free exterior access control for compatible commercial rim exit devices. Authorized users enter the programmed combination and depress the exterior lever to retract the connected exit-device latch. From the interior, the panic bar or push pad provides unrestricted free egress.

The LP1010 is the combination-entry-only model in the lever-operated Simplex LP1000 Series. It does not include a mechanical key override, passage function or privacy lockout. Its straightforward operation makes it ideal for employee entrances, warehouses, schools, commercial buildings and other openings where a shared combination is acceptable.

Because the LP1010 is completely mechanical, it requires no batteries, wiring, power supply, access cards, software, computer or network connection. This eliminates recurring battery replacement and electronic maintenance while providing dependable standalone access control.

The lock stores one shared access combination. The combination can be changed using the supplied combination-change tool without removing the trim from the door. The system does not provide individual user codes, audit history, time schedules or remote access.

The LP1010 features a heavy-duty cast exterior housing, reinforced mounting plate, vandal-resistant solid-metal pushbuttons and a fixed ADA-compliant lever. A standard 2-3/4" tailpiece connects the exterior lever trim to the compatible exit-device hub.

The trim is factory handed and must be ordered for the correct door handing because it is not reversible in the field. The exit-device hub may rotate up to 60 degrees—counterclockwise for left-hand applications and clockwise for right-hand applications.

The LP1010 is weather resistant and available in four architectural finishes. It carries a 3-hour UL/ULC fire rating for “A”-labeled doors when installed with compatible listed components as part of an approved opening.

The LP1010 is exterior trim only. The rim exit device, strike and exit-device mounting hardware are supplied separately. Always confirm the exact exit-device model, handing and hub compatibility before ordering. Manufacturer specifications

Handing and Hub Rotation

The LP1010 is factory handed and cannot be reversed in the field.

  • Left-hand trim operates a counterclockwise-rotating hub.
  • Right-hand trim operates a clockwise-rotating hub.
  • Maximum listed hub rotation is 60 degrees.

The complete catalog number normally begins with the handing designation:

  • LLP1010: Left Hand or Left Hand Reverse
  • LRP1010: Right Hand or Right Hand Reverse

Confirm handing from the exterior or keypad side of the opening.

Important Compatibility Restriction

dormakaba identifies the LP1000 as rim exit-device trim and states that it cannot be used with:

  • Mortise-design exit devices
  • Vertical-rod exit devices
  • Incompatible hub rotations
  • Exit devices without the necessary exterior trim hub
  • Applications exceeding the listed 60-degree hub rotation

Although broad manufacturer compatibility lists may show model numbers shared by multiple configurations, the LP1010 should be used only with a specifically verified compatible rim exit-device application.

Compatibility may change if an exit-device manufacturer modifies its internal hub or trim design. Confirm the exact device model and configuration before ordering.

Von Duprin Compatibility

The LP1000 compatibility list references selected Von Duprin:

  • 22 Series
  • 88 NL
  • 98 Series
  • 99 Series
  • 900 Series

For a standard application, verify that the specific device is a compatible rim device, not a mortise, surface vertical-rod or concealed vertical-rod configuration.

Do not order based only on the “98” or “99” series name; confirm the complete exit-device model.

Tailpiece Options

Standard Tailpiece

  • 2-3/4" length
  • Included with the trim
  • Used for standard door applications

Optional Extended Tailpiece

  • 5" length
  • Part number: 74773-000-01
  • Sold separately
  • Intended for freezer doors and other approved thick-door applications

The manufacturer lists standard door thickness compatibility from 1-3/8" through 2-1/4".

Exit-Device Dogging

A compatible non-fire-rated exit device may be dogged without affecting the LP1010 trim.

When the exit device is dogged:

  • The device latch remains retracted.
  • The opening permits passage without entering the combination.
  • The LP1010 combination remains programmed.

When the device is undogged, the exterior trim returns to combination-controlled operation.

Mechanical dogging is generally prohibited on fire-rated exit hardware. Follow the exit-device manufacturer’s instructions and applicable fire codes.

Door and Installation Requirements

  • Door thickness: 1-3/8" to 2-1/4"
  • Minimum recommended stile: 5"

  • Correct hub rotation
  • Correct factory handing
  • Hub rotation no greater than 60 degrees
  • Recessed through bolts may be required
  • Door reinforcement may be necessary
  • Exit device and trim templates must align

Review both the LP1010 installation template and the exit-device manufacturer’s template before drilling the door.
