The dormakaba Simplex EE1021/EE1021 Double-Sided Mechanical Pushbutton Lock provides controlled access from both sides of a door using mechanical combinations or override keys. Unlike a conventional keyless lock that provides free interior egress, the EE1021/EE1021 requires an authorized combination or compatible mechanical key to operate the lock from either direction.
Each side of the door features a vandal-resistant mechanical pushbutton keypad, cast knob and key-override cylinder preparation. A user enters the programmed combination and turns the knob to retract the cylindrical latch. Authorized management, security or emergency personnel can bypass the combination using the override key on either side.
The EE1021/EE1021 uses two mechanical combination chambers—one on each side of the door. Each side supports one access combination and can be programmed after installation. The two sides may be managed according to the facility’s access requirements, including setting matching combinations when desired.
Because the lock is completely mechanical, it requires no batteries, electricity, wiring, access cards, software, computer or network connection. It remains operational during power and network outages and eliminates recurring battery-replacement expenses.
Available key-override preparations support BEST-style small-format interchangeable cores and selected large-format removable cores from Corbin Russwin, Medeco, ASSA, Yale, Abloy, Schlage and Sargent.
