The dormakaba Simplex 3001 is a fully mechanical pushbutton lock housing designed for narrow-stile aluminum and glass storefront doors. It provides combination entry, mechanical key override, passage and lockout functions without batteries, wiring or software. The 3001 operates compatible Adams Rite 4510, 4710 or 4910 mortise latches through a separately selected handed drive assembly. Mortise cylinder, drive assembly, latch and strike are not included.

Full Product Description

The dormakaba Simplex 3001 Mechanical Pushbutton Lock provides battery-free combination access for narrow-stile aluminum and glass storefront doors. Its slim exterior housing fits door stiles as narrow as 1-7/8", making it a practical keyless-access solution for commercial storefront entrances where conventional cylindrical locks may not fit.

During normal operation, an authorized user enters the programmed combination and rotates the clutch-protected exterior thumbturn to retract the compatible Adams Rite mortise latch. The lock also accepts a standard Adams Rite Maximum Security-style mortise cylinder, allowing authorized keyed entry and control of passage or lockout functions.

The Simplex 3001 is the primary keypad and thumbturn housing for the 3000 Series. A complete installation requires the appropriate factory-handed drive assembly, selected according to the door handing and latch backset. The required Adams Rite mortise latch, strike and mortise cylinder are purchased separately.

The 3001 stores one shared access combination. It operates completely mechanically, eliminating batteries, electrical wiring, access cards, software and network connections. Authorized personnel can change the combination without removing the lock housing from the door.

The mechanical key override provides more than an alternate method of entry. From the exterior, an authorized key holder can place the lock into passage mode for unrestricted access or lockout mode to disable combination entry.

Heavy-duty construction includes an all-metal cast housing, vandal-resistant solid-metal pushbuttons and a force-resistant, clutch-protected fixed thumbturn. The lock is weather resistant and available in satin chrome or duranodic finishes.

The Simplex 3001 is intended for low- to moderate-traffic narrow-stile swinging-door applications. It is not a complete lockset by itself. Confirm the door handing, latch model, backset, cylinder and drive assembly before ordering. Manufacturer specifications

Combination Entry

Enter the correct combination and rotate the exterior thumbturn to retract the compatible Adams Rite latch.

Key Override

A compatible mortise-cylinder key can override the combination and permit authorized entry.

Passage Mode

Passage mode allows the exterior thumbturn to operate without entering the combination. It is activated from the exterior using the cylinder override key.

Lockout Mode

Lockout mode disables combination entry. While lockout is active, the programmed access code will not permit entry; access remains available with the mechanical override key.
