A: The BEST 7KC is a grade 2 cylindrical lever set that was introduced to the
commercial market in 2001. The BEST 7KC lever set is comparable to the BEST 9K
lever set, however is a Grade 2 lockset, opposed to the 9K Grade 1 rating.

Q: Why is it called 7KC opposed to 7K?
A: The current BEST grade 2 cylindrical lever set series is called 7KC. Prior to
launching the 7KC cylindrical lock set in 2001, BEST offered a 7K tubular lock set. The
7K was a completely different lock with different components, door prep guidelines,
etc. The 7K product is no longer available in the market. The “C” was added to the
new 7K cylindrical product offering to differentiate the old tubular 7K from the new
cylindrical 7KC.

Q: In what type of applications is the 7KC primarily used?
A: The 7KC is very popular in commercial offices spaces, college dorms, and military
bases. The 7KC has also been seen in heavy duty residential applications even though
it far exceeds residential requirements.

Q: Does the 7KC fit the standard door prep?
A: Yes, the 7KC fits the standard door prep (161). With the use of the ATB option, the
7KC will also fit the Schlage ND80 door prep.

Step 2: Install preassembled chassis and outside lever; Step 3: Install inside trim and
lever. The entire installation process takes an average of 2 minutes. Since the 7KC
has only three individual parts, and our packaging is designed with the installer in
mind, installation for the 7KC product can be done quickly, efficiently and accurately
ultimately reducing install related errors and call-backs.

A: The 7KC comes preset from the factory to fit 1 3/4" thick doors but can be field

5300LN series cylindrical locks conform to ANSI/BHMA Specifications A156.115 which cover hardware preparations for steel doors and steel frames and A156.115-W which cover hardware preparations for wood doors with wood or steel frames.

Free Wheeling Lever Trim
All 5300LN functions feature the Free Wheeling lever mechanism. When the outside lever is locked, it will rotate freely up and down while remaining securely locked.

Dorma DB660 Cylinder x Turn :

Providing increased security, reliability, and durability. DORMA offers a choice of rugged dead bolts to provide an added sense of protection. The DB600 Series are Grade 2 dead bolts with an adjustable 2-3/8"– 2-3/4" backset. The 1" throw dead bolt includes a hardened steel roller to prevent sawing through the bolt. The Heavy-Duty cylinders are through-bolted, with reinforced cylinder rings to protect against physical attack. Brass 6-pin cylinders are provided for security and durability. The solid steel strike plate reinforcement with 2" screws protects the door jamb against a kick-in attack.

Special Finish Notes ANSI/BHMA A156.18 standards describe 613 Dark Oxidized Satin Bronze finish as a category B finish. Patented (patent no. 6,131,970) door adjustable rose support plates allow the 5300LN to easily adjust to doors from 1-3/4" (44mm) to 2" (51mm) thick. For 1-3/8" (35mm) or 2-1/4" (57mm) thick doors, please specify door thickness on order.

Installation
5300LN series cylindrical locks conform to ANSI/BHMA Specifications A156.115 which cover hardware preparations for steel doors and steel frames and A156.115-W which cover hardware preparations for wood doors with wood or steel frames.

Free Wheeling Lever Trim
All 5300LN functions feature the Free Wheeling lever mechanism. When the outside lever is locked, it will rotate freely up and down while remaining securely locked.

Specifications
Door Thickness: 1 3/8” to 1 3/4”. Up to 2 1/4” door thickness also available.
Backsets: 2 3/8” to 2 3/4” adjustable deadbolt.
Attachment: Locks are solidly attached to the door by 1/4” heat-treated steel bolts. These bolts pass through a steel plate (D111, D121 and D141) or the inner cylinder housing (D131) and thread directly into the back of the outer cylinder housing.
A permanent cap is inserted over the inside cylinder (D131) making the bolts nearly impossible to remove.
Handing: Non-handed. May be used on right hand or left hand doors swinging in or out.
Cylinders: Furnished with solid brass plug and housing, drilled with 6-pin chambers, pinned in 5 unless otherwise specified. Also available with 7-pin cylinders. Available with 6 or 7-pin interchangeable cores. Furnished with two (2) nickel silver keys standard.
Keyways: “G” keyway standard on conventional cylinders. “A” keyway standard on I/C core cylinders. Also available with some optional keyways.
Exposed Trim: Wrought brass or bronze reinforced with steel insert.
Deadbolts: Deadbolt locks are furnished with deadbolts which have a full 1” projection. Housed within the deadbolt is a freeturning, 1/4” thick, hardened steel, saw-resistant roller. Furnished standard with 2 3/8” to 2 3/4” adjustable backset and 1 1/8” x 2 1/4” faceplate. Optional 1” x 2 1/4” faceplate. Consult Options and Accessories section for other optional faceplates. D100 bolt is high strength steel.
Strikes: 2 3/4” x 1 1/8” lipless strike standard. ANSI 4 7/8” x 1 1/4” lipless, 2 1/4” full lip strikes, a 2 3/4” x 1 1/8” T-strike or a security strike are available. Consult Options and Accessories section.
Screws: Furnished with wood/machine screws for use on wood or metal doors or frames.

Arrow D61 Single Cylinder Deadbolt. The Arrow D Series deadlocks are engineered to perform under the most extreme conditions where security is critical. Our Grade 1 extra heavy duty deadlock surpasses the demands of industrial, institutional and commercial applications.
